• I just created a new blog through BlueHost using WordPress. I know that the default is a comment section below the post however after publishing my post there is no comment section below. I have looked at the main settings section under discussions and all correct boxes seem to be checked. I also checked in the individual post settings and the comments box is checked, Any help appreciated.

Also, where you create/edit posts or pages in admin, check if you have ticked comments for your posts/pages in the “discussion” box below the editor. If you don’t see the “discussion” box there, in the ‘screen option’ dropdown field (located near the top right), there are tick-boxes to show the ‘discussion’ box for the posts/pages. Tick mark it. In the ‘discussion’ box below the post/page editor, you can then allow/disallow comments for the page.

Thanks for answering! I have ticked the boxes on the left side of the edit page under settings/discussion, Under the upper right hand screen options drop down menu on the main post page and on the screen options drop down menu on the actual post edit page. all have the comments and discussions boxes ticked. Still not on published blog.

I am having the same issue. I have done the following:

    1. Settings > Discussions > checked to allow comments
    2. Post > Screen Options > Discussions are checked
    3. Themes > Settings > there are no discussion options
    4. Disabled all plugins > created a NEW post

I am not getting a comments box on ANY posts. The only comments boxes that are showing are on OLD posts that I transferred over from wordpress.com prior to installing on my own server.

Any advice, tips, or suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Have you tried:
    – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Not just your browser, but any op cache or content network cache as well such as Cloudflare. If your host provider has a “Purge Varnish” option or if you can ask your provider to flush memcache on your server.
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP/ SFTP (no Dashboard access required). Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    @katbrat,

If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. That way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want.

I deactivated all plugins and changed to the default theme and still no comment section.

Can have link to a post where you don’t see the comment box?

I looked at your Recent Post at:

And I can see your comment box! No problem!

As I recommended above, have you tried flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Not just your browser, but any op cache or content network cache as well such as Cloudflare. If your host provider has a “Purge Varnish” option or if you can ask your provider to flush memcache on your server.

I cleared all cached items and history and even changed browsers. When I put in the link you posted above it shows comments when I enter just https://simple-happy-life.com only then no comments. Thanks for your time! I will continue to research this.
