Comments Pages Lost

  • I changed my permalink to the essay title. The change went fine for the essays, but the comments are lost. If I try to add a comment, I leave the site and end up in limbo. How can I fix this??

    Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and deleting/renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

    Thank you t-p. I read using permalinks, then decided to return to the default. Immediately everything worked again. It is hard to understand how programmers with a relational database available could get so hung up (out to dry as they say??). MYSQL is not the world’s strongest relational, but I have used it and it could easily manage anything you might want to do with permalinks, rapidly, without pain. Oh well—ugly come to daddy.
