Comments on posts are disabled when message is duplicated in the app

    Thanks for all the work you do.

    I have the problem when I duplicate a message (fi in concepts), the possibility to react is set back to ‘Only pings’. It is the same when I save it concepts or publish it. I have to change it by logging in through my browser to set ‘Discussion’ to ‘Open’ to enable comments to my posts (messages).
    Until may this year, when I used the app for the last time, I didn’t have this problem.
    The global settings for comments are enabled.

    I’ve installed WordPress on a local Raspberry Pi 4, WordPress version 6.6.2, Dutch.
    WordPress App version 25.3(25.3.0.1) on iOS 17.7 iPad and iPhone. I update apps regularly.

    I hope you are doing well.

    Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the same device setup as you, so I can’t replicate the issue exactly. But here’s what I think might be going on:

    It seems like the WordPress app on iOS may have a bug or misconfiguration that’s resetting your discussion settings when you duplicate or save posts. Another possibility is that there’s an issue with how the app is interacting with your local WordPress installation on the Raspberry Pi. Additionally, a plugin or theme conflict could be causing this behavior. I suggest checking if your plugins and theme are up to date, or temporarily disabling them to see if that resolves the issue.

    I am unable to replicate this but don’t have acess to the same enviroment you have, specifically Raspbery Pi. Does it happen for you the same when trying on a laptop/PC?

    Thank for your replies. @alinclamba: on laptop/PC I don’t use the special WordPress app from WordPress.com to manage my site (I didn’t want a login at WordPress.com; OK, my quirk??) and then you add messages through your browser. Duplicating in the browser is coping all your blocks into a new message. Then it works OK.
    In the WordPress-app from WordPress.com (for iPhone/iPad) made by Automattic, as far as I can see, you have a Duplicate menu-item. And there it goes wrong.
    As @asifsiam97 says, it’s probably an app bug. And it doesn’t make any difference if I use the original www.remarpro.com-app or the JetPack-app. I didn’t have it before: the release of the WordPress site on the Raspberry Pi is the same. Don’t know when a new release form the WordPress-app was in between may and august this year.

    I see there is a post on GitHub on this, I will add my experience.
