comments on blog page

  • In developing my new website I have moved my blog page off of the home page (which is now static). Even though I have checked ‘allow comments’ for the page and the blog itself, the comment box is not showing. When clicking on ‘leave a comment’ at the left of the page, I get an error message. I have already checked my discussions selections and see no problems there. web site is https://www.kathyetc.com This seems to be something others have experienced as well…..Help please!

    New info….this happens on any page that I place my ‘post’….the comment area disappears…thanks.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I think I have done all of the above things and still don’t see the comment box on my post page??? (The comment option will appear on the other pages)

    double check your permalink settings:

    there seems to be a fixed ‘pagetitle’ in the commentslinks

    Can’t seem to delete the pagetitle in the box but have selected and saved the post name option for permalink…..I am puzzled. If I don’t put a post on the page my comment option is available making it a little cumbersome to have folks comment on my blog posting…..for the time being I have left the comment option on the blog page and invite my viewer to select a blog from the sidebar to read (or direct them to my other wordpress blog site…..where there is no problem with comments….)
