    Hi everyone,

Since I’ve upgraded to 2.0.1, the comments number for each of my entries refuses to update. There’s one entry in which I have two comments, but the counter still says “0”. I don’t *think* it has anything to do with the theme I’m using because I’m having the same problem when I switch themes.

Also, when I delete a comment, the entire comments link disappears from the entry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Rashunda

Are you using SpamKarma 2? And if so, do you have the latest/greatest version?

    Hi there,

Yes, I’m using SpamKarma 2. Not sure if I have the latest version. I’ll check.

    Thanks,

    Hi Handy,

I installed it but got this message on the Spam Karma config page:

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in /home/www/xxxxxx.com/web/html/wp-content/plugins/SK2/sk2_util_class.php on line 2

But the error is getting us off topic.:-)

…and the comments still read “0”.:-)

Someone else had the same problem. No one replied:

Have you contacted the SK author? Do those errors go away if you turn off the SK plugin?

Right now, there are so many errors going on that comments can’t be posted.

I turned off SK and the errors went away. Back to working on comments.

    Hi Handy,

Spaminator killed your comment. I’ll put it back up.

I turned Spaminator off. Please try again.

Okay. I just tested and the comments worked. But my spam protection is all the way off now. Will wait on you to try again.

I think I’m on to something. Spaminator needs the person leaving a comment to give their name, email, etc. There aren’t fields to do that with the theme I’m using. At least I *think* I’m onto something.

ah, that might explain some of the errors being thrown.

You might look at akismet for anti-spam if it is SK causing all the big issues though.

    Hi again,

I’m getting a key now. I can hardly keep my eyes open so I’m going to call it a night. I’ll update this post tomorrow. Handy, thank you so much for your help and patience. I really appreciate it.

    Best regard,
    Rashunda
