Comments Not Working with Private Galleries

  • I think I’ve found a bug. I haven’t been able to find a similar issue on the forum. This is with a fresh install of both WordPress and Sunshine cart using latest version of WordPress running the default theme and no other plugins.

    [WordPress Version: 5.7.2; PHP Version: 7.4.16; Sunshine Photo Cart: 2.8.28]

    When enabled, comments work as expected on gallery images UNTIL that gallery is designated as “Private (only specified users).” Once that is enable, site admins can still add comments, but when a user tries to add a comment, they are redirected to a blank page (url: …/wp-comments-post.php). To be clear:

    Gallery changed to “Private” and a user “someuser” is assigned to the gallery.

    When admin tries to comment in that gallery, it works. When “someuser” tries to comment in that gallery (which the user can access just fine), the commenting error occurs.

    All other commenting throughout the rest of the site works normally / as expected, so this seems to be a problem specific to Sunshine Photo Cart and, in particular, to the Private gallery feature.
