• Recently I updated my website with a new theme. After that new theme was instated, I began receiving e-mail after e-mail informing me that comments were not working and that a side-to-side scroll bar was now on my page.

All of my coding is valid. All of my styling is valid. I’m just not quite sure is going on. I have also not edited my comments.php file since the Ming Dynasty.

When one attempts to comment me and presses “Submit Comment” a message pops up: Error: please type a comment.

    Fixed!
    Thank you everybody.

Would you mind posting what fixed your comments? The ability to post comments has disappeared from my site for some reason and I’m trying to track down the problem. Thanks.

I am having the same issue. Comments not working anymore:

Thanks in advance for any help!

My problem is slightly different. When anyone wants to leave a comment they are asked to first login. Anyone else had this?

    hi,beeswax,
you need to go to general settings and look at how your membership boxes are set. anyone can register and you need to be registered and logged in to comment.
    mike.

I am having this problem too since upgrading to 2.6 – when you click to leave a comment, it gives an error message, such as this. (hope that link works) I would REALLY appreciate help on this comments issue – this has never happened before with an upgrade (though other problems have). It’s not a membership issue and it’s not a theme issue, because I switched back to the WP default and it has the same problem. thanks for any help.

I just installed it (on my website which is hosted elsewhere) and am having the same problems.
https://blog.pluim-nielsen.nl . When you mouseover No comments on… you see that it should point to https://blog.pluim-nielsen.nl/?p=5#respond , but when you click it returns to the same screen again.
Text is in Dutch on the particular site and I had changed it so that everyone can leave comments (without registering).
    Any clues?

same problem with the errors since upgrading to 2.6. Please help.
