Comments not working, 404 error, any ideas?

  • When trying to leave a comment on my blog I get the following:

    ForbiddenYou don’t have permission to access /wp-comments-post.php on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    HTTPD Server Server at buildashedhouse.com Port 80

    Why is this and what can I do about it?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    Ok I will give it a shot, I have a few plugins that need upgrading as well. I’ll try both
