I’ve just installed and am testing PressForward on a WP 4.0.1 site (multisite environment; not network enabled) with a Genesis theme. Internal commenting is enabled, and I’m testing at either admin or network admin role, using Mac-based Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. I see the Add Comment button at right when I preview an item, but I cannot enter text. I have found no workarounds. Without the ability to add comment, the editorial review process is seriously limited. I haven’t seen this bug reported anywhere else, so assume it’s not a WP4.0 issue. Have others experienced it? Workarounds?

I do see one error in console when I bring up :

ReferenceError: Can't find variable: editorialCommentReply (anonymous function)

The error is repeated when I click the Add Comment button.

Would sure appreciate if others are experiencing this.

    Hey Jim,

We use code that is similar to a number of other plugins and either they or our code may be causing a conflict. Can you give us a list of the other plugins you are running so we can test for conflicts?

Okay, I’ve uploaded a list of current site- and network-activated plugins for our test curation/comments site, ds.lclark.edu/envx/, to GDrive here. The list is long, but I’m happy to turn specific (hopefully site- vs. network-activated!) plugins off to help diagnose.

    Many thanks,

    Jim P.

Ok, a whole bunch of those plugins are in use in other environments, so I can whittle down a lot of them and run them through the test environment.

Would appreciate an update when you can, as we hope to deploy for spring semester course activities starting in a little over a week. Happy to test on our end as needed as well.

Now that 3.4.5 is released, I’d appreciate if we could attempt to diagnose this comments issue, as it’s vital to curation process.

    Many thanks,

    Hi Jim,

With the latest update are you still having this issue?

Hooray, just updated and comments are finally working!! Sure appreciate, and sorry I didn’t test prior to posting…didn’t see it mentioned on update summary.

    Many thanks,

    Jim P.
