• So I’m designing a new them for a site. Comments worked in the old theme just fine.

I uploaded a new them and noticed that comments were not showing up. I figured it was a theme issue and just spent the last 3 hours troubleshooting my theme. In frustration, I went back to the old theme, then the WP default, the tried a couple more themes…the comments that I know are there are not showing in any theme all of the sudden.

If you’re on the home page, you can see, in posts that have comments, it’ll list “3 Comments”. So you know they’re there. But you click through to see the post (single.php) and the post shows but no comments, no place to add comments, etc.

All these themes have <?php comments_template(); ?>, so I’ve no idea what’s going on.

Even in single.php, the <?php comments_popup_link(); ?> shows that there are comments for that post, but you scroll down, and there’s nothing after the post – in any theme.

    Ideas?

    Thanks!

    Well, I posted too soon.

I started deactivating my plugins 1 by 1, and low and behold, I had activated AJAXed WordPress yesterday (I guess) … last updated in 2009. Apparently it’s no longer compatible with the lastest WordPress … so, deactivated that and I got all my comments back!
