Comments Not on myadmin or page

  • Ok so it’s a week later and I’m bringing this up again because I have tried a lot more things now and I am curious if anyone has ANY suggestions. It shows comment numbers at the top of each post BUT you can not view the comments. The comments also do not appear on my dashboard so I am very concerned and am looking for any ideas.

    1) I deactivated all plug-ins (didn’t fix it). Each has been activated again.
    2) I changed the layout to twenty-six (didn’t fix it). Went back to Friday theme.
    3) I added the plug-in WP-DBmanager (didn’t fix it). Still using plug in however.
    4) I went through each help topic involving comments and tried everything I was capable of trying (I am not the most tech savvy person every so admittedly there were one or two suggestions I didn’t understand fully).

    With that in mind… any suggestions? WILL TRY ANYTHING!

    I need a step-by-step instruction at this point, simply because I got a little confused and am afraid of making a bigger problem.

  • open a post with comments and edit it from the dashboard, then on the top of the page find a button called ‘Screen Options’ click it and check on comments, then go to the bottom of the post and try to find the panel called ‘comments’ and see if there are any comments in there.
    if you found comments then it’s a theme problem.

    did and nada. Think I’m accepting the fate of them being gone. All that did is remove the post from saying it had comments which to me says the data is lost forever.
