Comments not appearing since upgrading to WordPress 5.5

Is anyone else having this problem. All my comments are showing as a number of comments but are no longer displayed on the page. Looking at other themes with the same problem it seems to appears to be with the WP_Comment object.
It has an array key called “comment_type” It looks like WordPress 5.5 has set a specific value for comment_type, the value being “comment”. ANd nay themes are returning no string value.
I’m not very good at reading code so was wondering if anyone has had to sort this issue in Allegiant.
