• For some reason, the Comments Form block is not working in my Homepage template. On my Homepage it simply displays a text string “Leave a comment” instead of displaying the Comment form.

The Comments Form block works properly in the Single Post pages, but not on my Homepage. I’ve tried the Support chat, but heard nothing back from them after the support person (a human, not a chatbot) promised to check out my Homepage Template. That was a day ago…

I’ve been using the Twenty Ten theme for years and decided to move to Twenty Twenty Five, and now this issue has hit me. I get the feeling that the “Leave a comment” text is coming from the former Comments Form widget, but I see no trace of it in the Homepage template when using the Site Editor.

Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

  • Hi @gcoupe

In this forum you can ask about the theme Twenty Twenty-Five.
If you are using a wordpress.com site, it is important to know that they may have custom functionality that the volunteers in this forum are not able to answer questions about.
Hopefully their support will reply soon.

I looked at your website and the front page is using a custom comment form, perhaps from a plugin?
Since this is not part of the theme, I do not think that the problem is caused by the theme itself.
I have set up a test site using the standard comment blocks that are part of WordPress, and they are working, the form is displaying correctly. That is why I believe the problem is elsewhere.

Thanks for your reply. Frankly, I don’t understand this – I am using the standard Comment form on both my HomePage template and in the Single Post template; nothing is “custom”. And my site is hosted on WordPress.com and I can’t use plugins.

Still crickets from Support, so no help forthcoming from them at the moment…
