• I am helping a young friend of mine with a school project, and as part of it he has set up a blog here (helped by someone else). I know little about blogs, and nothing about WordPress, but it appears that comments aren’t being saved. If I go to the page I can see a comment I posted, and I know there have been others but I can’t see them. Is it the case that I can see what I have posted, but only Charlie can see everything, or is there something else happening (or not happening)?

Charlie needs all the help he can get, so any insights from this forum will be greatly appreciated.

    TIA

  • Hi, in your WordPress dashboard it is likely that he will have the discussion settings set to “administrator must always approve the comment”
which means that he can approve comments or delete them if he considers them to be spam. But they won’t appear until they have been approved.

This is the default setting I believe.

In the WordPress dashboard go to the settings tab in the left hand column and then open the discussion tab. You can un check the “before a comment appears” box if he wants comments to appear automatically

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the response. That certainly sounds plausible. I’ll be seeing Charlie later today so I’ll talk to him about it. He may need help changing the settings, but hopefully the person who helped him with the original setup will be able to assist if necessary.
