Comments don’t appear

I upgraded to 1.5 and someone just pointed out to me that comments haven’t been working for the past few weeks. Oddly, comments did work for a brief period after I upgraded, but then stopped. Once you try to post a comment it takes you to a page with the post and the comment section, but it always says “no comments” no matter how many times you try to post.

I’ve read the comment sections in the codex FAQ and I’ve browsed through the forums, and I honestly don’t know what to try or what to look for in my templates. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
