Comments disappeared and cannot save new comments

Greetings:

I’ve been blogging with WordPress since 2008—https://www.leftylimbo.com—but over the years have started falling off, especially with the advent of Facebook and its perk of “instant engagement.”

However, I’ve gotten back to blogging recently, and noticed that although the comment quantities per post may show in the main Dashboard table, zero comments show up under the “Comments” tab, and I am unable to save any new comments.

I’ve done some research on this topic the past few days and have seen some common suggested troubleshooting methods.

As far as deactivating all the plugins and reactivating, I’ve tried that and it didn’t work.

Then I checked the actual database itself, and found the following error statements:

[leftylim_wrd1.wp_commentmeta] Error: File ‘./leftylim_wrd1/wp_commentmeta.MYD’ not found (Errcode: 2)
[leftylim_wrd1.wp_commentmeta] Error: Can’t find file: ‘wp_commentmeta’ (errno: 2)
[leftylim_wrd1.wp_commentmeta] error: Corrupt

Repair attempt failed at this point.

What else can I do?
