Comments Disabled on a post

  • Comments on my newest post have been disabled and I can’t figure out why. I’ve gone into screen options and the “comments” button is checked, and I went into “discussion” and all of the correct buttons were clicked. When I manually comment via post edit, underneath my comment it says “comments closed”. The comments work on all my other posts.

  • Edit the Post and check “Allow comments”. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

    Hey thanks, Bluehost eventually helped me figure it out. Apparently “allow comments” was clicked under the normal page edit but it was unselected under “quick edit” due to some sort of glitch. If you’re having this problem and have literally tried everything, make sure you check out your post via “quick edit” and see if you have the same problem I did.
