Comments box not showing up?

I’m editing a news website that’s a combo of wordpress and movable type — wordpress is basically the content management system. I changed the settings to allow comments on the articles, but no comment box is showing up in the stories. Is there something I need to change in the actual coding to make this work? Is there something else I need to do? I also tried to select “allow comments” on the individual posts, but that didn’t work either. Thanks for your help!
