“Comments are closed” although they are activated!?

  • Hey there

    I am using WP for a while now but I just can’t figure out how to fix this problem.

    Instead of the comments form below each posting, I get the line “Comments are closed”, although they are activated in the admin interface. How can I fix that?

    Might there be a problem with the code?

  • Are you sure that they are open for that particular entry? Edit the entry, and then look at the comment status… is it “open” ?

    It could be a problem with your theme, but let’s make sure that your comments really are open first. Note that the setting in Options => discussion only matters for new posts, it doesn’t change the post status of old posts.
