• Hello.
I have just received this comment on my website:

When I originally left a comment I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I receive four emails with the same comment. Is there a way you can remove me from that service? Thanks! my page; –link to his/her page

I receive many comments that are just spam (all of them are written in English, but my website is in Italian, so I guess those people don’t even understand what the website says… but whatever), and I always have to trash them. It looks like this person posted a comment, and now has this problem. I haven’t trashed nor accepted the comment. My question is: is there something I can do about what he/she says? I have no idea (there are many features I don’t know, though I’ve been using WordPress for quite a long time).
    Thank you.

  • Your WordPress site has Akismet plugin installed by default. You can use that to block the spam.

    Ok thanks.
But can I solve his/her problem somehow? It looks like this person gets notified when a new comment is added, and would like to unsubscribe from that. As the owner of the site, can I unsubscribe him/her? If so, how?

You need to uncheck comment notification at Dashboard -> Settings -> Discussion.

    Hello, thanks for your answer.
In that page, I can only find “E-mail me whenever”, so I guess I can only change the setting for me (I can only decide if I get emailed). But another person is asking to be unsubscribed from comment notifications. I can’t find any list of people who get notifications from my website (so that I can uncheck him/her) or anything like that. Should he/she go to that page and change the setting for him/her? But can he/she go to the dashboard in my website?
I’m asking because I have no idea of that, so I thank anyone who’s willing to help me.

From this page https://en.support.wordpress.com/comment-notification-email/ , The only recommendation is “As an Administrator, you can add or edit users in Users → All Users in your dashboard.”

    Thank you.
I tried, but it looks like the only user in the website is me. And in that page it is said that people who post comments only get a notification for replies on their comment, not for any new comment posted on the website.
Ok, so his/her message was probably just one more spam attempt (and it is not true that he/she is receiving notifications).
    Thank you again!
