    For anyone seeing this thread, the current implemented solution is being sitewide on or off. It’s simple, straight to the point, and alleviates cumbersome implementation.

    Note that once the emoji script is cached in the user’s browser, it doesn’t affect performance. So fiddling with granular settings is rather pointless in that regard, in my opinion.
