    Hello–

The Search drop-down options that installed on my CommentPress Core site are limited to “Members” and “Posts,” only. I’ve looked at Settings but don’t see a way to expand or alter the options. How do I include page content in the search drop-down options?

    Thanks for any assistance.

Update: I’ve just learned that my BuddyPress plugin was overriding CommmentPress Core’s page search function, and that deactivating BuddyPress eliminated the “Members” and “Posts” options and made page search possible. This leads me to update my query: Is it possible to have BuddyPress active on a CommentPress Core site without losing the page search function?

A few questions… Is CommentPress active on your multisite main site? Or is this a single site install? What do you mean by “page search”?

CommentPress is not active on my main site. By page search I just mean searches that apply to the textual content of pages in CommentPress, as opposed to the “Members” and “Posts” content categories that display when BuddyPress is activated. For instance, the search feature at the site here (not mine) appropriately targets the content of the literary text being displayed: https://www.textofnorthangerabbey.org/northangerabbey/

With BuddyPress active on my site, that search field includes a dropdown menu with only the two options mentioned above, with no means for searching the main content. Thanks, Christian.

Okay, I see what you mean now. BuddyPress overrides the way search happens. I’ll look into this and see what I can come up with to work around this.

I’ve updated CommentPress to include pages when the BuddyPress “posts” option is selected. I guess there should probably be an additional option added to the dropdown, but I couldn’t decide what to call it ?? The fix will be included in the next release.
