    Hi @ma-san

Can you install and active the Mail Logging plugin.

Then make a test comment and check the logs to see if they show up in there and if they do what the status is.

Let me know how that goes and we’ll figure out what might be the issue.

    Hi,

first of all, thank you so much for answering and offering your help. I followed your instructions to install the WP Mail Logging plugin. After that, I wrote a test comment and also answered to that test comment. Neither an e-mail shows up at my email account nor do I see any logs at WP Mail Logging plugin.

Due to my research I installed WP Mail SMTP plugin the day before your answer. Whithin that plugin you can send a test e-mail (NOT a test Comment), which I did. It did not show up at my e-mail account, but it shows up at WP Mail Logging plugin now. If I click on “Mistake” it says: SMPT connect failed.

    I hope this helps

    Kind regards
    Martin

    Hi @ma-san

    You’re welcome.

When you go to WP admin > StCR > Manage subscriptions, do you see any subscriptions in the table there. And if you do what are their statuses (the last column of the table)?

    Hey,

yes, there is exactly one subsciption (probably because i did not have the plugin before!), and the last column on the right is saying “all comments”.

On StCR there is also an alert from WP Mail SMTP v2.2.1 plugin saying:

    Mailer: Other SMTP-Connection
    SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting

    Regards
    MaSan

    and thanks again for helping….

    Hi @ma-san

Our plugin uses the wp_mail function that comes with WordPress, there’s no special functionality for mailing in the plugin.

Since you have some issue with the SMTP connection the plugin can’t send any emails. The failed attempts should still show up in the WP Mail logging plugin, but perhaps it’s a type of error that stops it before it gets to the logging.

You should contact the hosting provider about the SMTP issue. Once that’s resolved if you’re still having issues with the StCR email notification being sent out let me know and we’ll figure out what’s going on.
