Comment Spam DDOS

  • I have WordPress 2.0.5 running on my own server (SuSE 10.0). For some days I have comment spam attacks on my blog. It usually takes an hour or so. My blog is not accessible anymore during the attack. The attacks come from countless different IPs. I tried several anti-spam plugins (bad behavior etc.) but my server goes down anyway. Any idea what I could do?

  • Try mod_dosevasive (it was just brought up in another thread).

    And since youre using Apache on a NIX box, get acquainted with how ip_chains works.

    You might also want to invest in some more ram and a better connection.
