    Re: requiring registration. I would rather not require registration since I think that gives the potential poster too many hoops to jump through.

    I’m already receiving comment spam so I’m fearful of changing the permission on the comments.

    My web hosting service set WordPress up. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being a developer I’m probably
    a 2.

    Here’s the bridge. I don’t fully understand the spam plugin or how to install it.

    “certified newbies”

  • Most plugins are as easy as uploading a file to your /wp-content/plugins folder, then logging in to your WordPress admin panel, going to the Plugins menu, finding the plugin on the list, and clicking Activate. You usually find installation instructions with the plugin file as well. This is perhaps one of the easiest tasks you can do, and it’s well worth doing.
