• Is there a way to make blog post comment replies come from the post author instead of the main site admin? My client (Jayne) has admin privileges and authors her own blog posts. However, when she replies to comments they come from me (Mary) the website administrator. That is terribly confusing to the people making the comments, as they think they are talking to Jayne! Help!

  • I just checked the commenting behavior on a fresh WordPress installation, and replies should show as being authored by the currently logged in user. In other words, Jayne should be able to comment and her name should be the one displayed by default.

Here are some things you could try:

-Has Jayne tried logging out and logging in again?

-Jayne could try clearing her browser cache or opening a new browser window.

If neither of the above points helps, are you using any plugins or theme functionality that may be overriding the default WordPress behavior?

*Note: To fix the author name on the current comments, you can go to Admin > Comments to update them.
