Comment Numbers

On each one of my posts, the comments have numbers assigned to them, but the numbers are commulative. How do I change that?

I’d like each post to have it’s own numbered comments… Right now, if there’s been 40 comments on my site, then when people look at the first comment on a new post, its numbered 41, not 1.

How can I fix this?
