Comment Number not Displaying – Database Problem?

If you take a look at my WP blog,

You’ll notice that on the front page none of the posts show any signs of having any comments. However, click on the comments link for the first post and you will find atleast 2 comments there, yet the header still displays none.

To make sure that it wasn’t a problem with my theme, I switched over to the default theme (you can do this too through the sidebar) and noticed the same problem there. Thus, I believe that this problem has something to do with the back end…. I just have no idea where. This problem began occuring sometime after I installed the new WP version, I just haven’t gotten around to fixing it.
