Comment notifications are delayed

    Hi there, I’ve had Comment Notifier installed on my website and running perfectly fine for the past 2 years. Everything was functioning OK til about two weeks ago.

    Notifications of comments usually get emailed to my nominated email address instantly but now they’re delayed anywhere between 2-15 hours. None of my settings have changed and I haven’t added any new plugins which could be affecting performance.

    I’m using Headway Theme, your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

    Hi, the plungin has not code to “delay” the email, so it’s surely your provider that delays them, probably it has the mail server overloaded. Open a ticket to the support guys of your provider and ask a check of the mail server.

    I’ll double check that although the mails are usually forwarded to my yahoo business email account and has nothing to do with the email address provided by my provider.

    Hi, I have not understood what has been checked, can you explain me better? What happens with your business email address? Do you forward a copy of all comment notifier email to that address?

    Hi Stefano, sorry I should have clarified it further. Yes all my comment notification emails are being forwarded to my business email address which is through yahoo – not my HostGator email address.

    That said, I was going through all my settings again yesterday and noticed my ‘new post notifications’ through Subscribe2 plugin are also delayed. I will definitely contact my provider and check with them now that I know the problem is occurring with more plugin notifications not just Comment Notifier.
