Propbably doesn’t help that every link I click on I get the same
“COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA, Copyright Regulations 1969 WARNING” message.

Perhaps speak to your server operator about why this page keeps overriding access to your site.

I’m sure this is happening by mistake; if not, talk about over zealous.

Yup, that redirect in the middle clobbers WP’s chance to do any link processing it seems.
