    Hello,

I deleted the ugly notes at the bottom of the comment form. That worked (help from this site).

I also experimented with the max widths in my responsive child theme stylesheet.

Now the comment form beneath posts is displaying across the entire page, and pushing side widgets to the area beneath.

How can I restore the code which keeps the comments the width of the post?

    Thanks for your help.

Well, I just checked again, and the problem only affected one post, which I deleted and reinstalled afresh. Problem gone.

I have no idea what happened!

I have seen your other posts, and they are very clear and instructive, some of the best on this site, by the way.

    Thanks for offering to help.

Were you using html within your post at all?

Often, if a layout becomes hosed within one specific post, the problem can stem from having unclosed html tags within a post – or from copy/pasta from Something like Microsoft Word, where the text brings over unseen formatting tags which can blow out a browser.

Yes! It was html line break code which must have been the culprit. I had corrected it, but in the process it clearly tampered with something.

Brilliant, thank you, Voodoo. I will read up.
