Comment data collection at Automattic

Hi!
After reading some privacy related information published by Automattic in relation to site comments, I think I understand exactly when data is collected and stored on your end and when it’s only stored on my end, but I’m not entirely sure. So my question is:

If I have Jetpack comments on my site, and only use Askimet with it (no log-in options enabled), does that mean that the only time comment data is sent to Automattic is in conjunction with the Askimet service? Or is comment data ever sent to Automatic in other circumstances even if one only uses Askimet?
