I used the plugin to delete all my comments. Unfortunately, after the comments were deleted, the comment count numbers still show up in the wordpress dashboard. See screenshot:

I ran a “truncate” on the WP database tables wp_commentmeta and wp_comments but still the numbers persist!

It’s not critical, but it sure is annoying. Know how I could remove that leftover data?

    Hello @rogueeasyweb,

It’s strange behavior of WordPress, wp_comments and wp_commentmeta tables are empty but comment count is still persist!!

Let us know if you want help with any other issue.

    Thanks,
    Xylus Themes

This is not resolved as I have exactly the same issue. I got this plugin specifically for deleting comments which it has done, but now I will not be able to quickly tell how many new comments have come in as the count is not correct.

Do you have any idea as to how to cure this issue ?

Same thing is happening here. Over 1560 comments still showing in the total, but comments have been deleted.

Bit annoying. Any idea how to fix it?

    Hi,

Sorry for delay in reply but after about 24/48 hrs my comments count finally cleared. There must be a cache somewhere on the Word Press installation that retains this count value for some period and then eventually resets.

Bit irritating but glad it has worked itself out.

    Best regards
    PAUL

@xylus I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.
