Comment count under Entry Title seen from main page

Hi,

I am using Lovecraft and love it, but I feel like I don’t get many comments because people can’t click a “Comment” button just below the title of the blog post from the MAIN page. Instead they must click on the title to get to the individual post’s page and scroll all the way to the bottom to “Leave a Reply.”

I suspect I need to add this code:
<?php comments_popup_link(‘No Comments’, ‘1 Comment’, ‘% Comments’); ?>

into The Loop, which on Lovecraft seems to maybe be inside index.php or content.php yet I can’t figure out where to put it within either of those options.

[Sidenote: I did this once successfully, then forgot how, and now (2 months later) the button was somehow deleted from my blog?]
