• Hi,
I’m running WP 2.7.1 and am having an issue with the comment count. Basically, when a non-registered user (which is everyone but the two admins) posts a comment, the comment count goes haywire.

If you look at this post, you can see it showing a count of 441 comments: https://lifespotlight.com/health/2009/03/16/selling-ill-health-real-foods-fake-foods/ But the actual comment count is about 1/10 of that. If I were to post a comment, it would reset the comment count to be what it should be, but as soon as a guest posts again, it shoots back up.

A query against the database returns that there are actually 49 comments on this post, which means it’s multiplying by 9 for some reason.

I’m not sure if the issue is in my theme or in a WP file. Any ideas on where to start?
