    Hi Ben,
Thank you for such a great theme and your prompt responses in the past!

If I originate a post, people who follow my site are able to post a comment. However, when I post a recipe through a custom post type (WP Ultimate Recipe), they are not able to post a comment. Do you have any solutions or recommendations?

    My site is: https://whatsusaneats.com
For the three recipes I posted, users are not able to comment, however, they are able to in my first post “Come back soon”

    Thank you!

Comments by default are only enabled for Posts, Pages, and Attachments, but I can see why you would also want them on custom post types.

If you activate this child theme on your site, it will enable comments on custom post types as well.

    To activate the child theme:

    1. Visit your site’s dashboard
    2. Go to the Appearance menu
    3. Click on the “Add New” button at the top of the page
    4. Click on the “Upload Theme” button at the top of the page
    5. Click on the “Choose File” button
    6. Select the ignite-plus-child.zip file you downloaded from the link above
    7. Click “Install Now”
    8. Once the page reloads, click the blue “activate” link

If you’re using a custom menu, you will need to re-select its location from the Menus page.

Note: this is an Ignite Plus child theme. If anyone needs an Ignite child theme for this, please ask here.

Quick question – now that I’ve activated the child theme, my site seems slower – taking longer to load each page. Is this normal and is there any way to speed it up?

    Thanks again!!

    You’re welcome!

The child theme only loads one additional file ( < 1kb ), so the slowing is likely caused by something else. If you’ve recently added any new plugins, they could be the source of the performance issue.
