Comment Box Disappears from Posts

    Hello,
    The problem I’m facing with my website (www.zakiazeba.com) is that comment box gradually disappears from my blog posts. I have started my website few months ago, my site is hosted with Bluehost and I’m using the free version of Kale theme. I’m using Disqus plugin for the comment option, but having serious issues in that area. All my settings are right I think…in the screen option for every post I did selected discussion & comments, in the plugin settings I did enabled & allowed comment for every post and anyone can post comment option. I even deleted Disqus plugin and again installed. Even after doing all this, none of it helped. When Disqus was deactivated, the normal comment box even didn’t show up in the posts so maybe the plugin is not the problem. There is just no comment box to comment anything, and comment box only appear in my last & latest post but after a few days later comment box is gone from that post as well.
    I followed this “Beginner’s Guide to Troubleshooting WordPress Errors (Step by Step)” as well. I just couldn’t do step “5. Backup and Delete .htaccess File”. When I tried to find .htaccess file it didn’t show up even though I checked the box to show hidden files. But after searching for it through search box all .htaccess files came up in a different box but the files didn’t open anyway, so I couldn’t delete the file.
    I did changed my permalink from default to only post name once, so maybe the comment box vanishing problem started because of that, but I’m not sure. Other plugins & theme might not be the problem, as I deactivated all the plugins & activated those one by one, and I changed theme to ‘twenty seventeen’ just to see if theme was the problem but even in other theme comment box didn’t show up in older posts.
    So, what should I do next? Any effective help would be highly appreciated.

  • Go to each post in the post editor and review if the allow comments check box is checked. If you do not see this, check your Screen Settings (upper right).

    Next, check that you are allowing post comments, and are not limiting by time at:

    Admin Dashboard>Settings>Discussion

    I see Discus on some posts, but not all posts.

    Also, check settings at your Discus account.

    Any issue in settings can cause this behavior. You may perform a few check ups to ensure that plugin and WP is configured properly for commenting.

    From your WP settings, click on discussion and enable “Allow people to post comments on new articles” if not enabled already.
    Ensure that your posts are configured to receive comments. (From WordPress live editor).

    @swansonphotos I just solved the issue. It seems like I did miss a setting, I did not know and notice that in discussion – the time setting to post comments was limited. I did not limit the time setting previously though. After changing this setting, the comment box in posts are back now. Thank you for pointing that out, that was reason for all this trouble.
