Comment Blacklist IP Range

  • Does the Comment Blacklist under Settings->Discussion accept only single IP addresses or can you enter a full range, like 111.222.333.0/24

    You can use that CIDR with htaccess if it doesn’t work from comments but it will block all clients from that IP range sitewide. That may not be what you want either.

    I entered a few ranges, but it doesn’t seem to block them from commenting. I’m not looking to block the range from accessing the site completely though, so the htaccess doesn’t quite work. Guess I’ll look for a plugin that specifically addresses blocking comments.
