• I am using the Comment Replied trigger and would like to do two things:
    1. Include the person who commented in the salutation and added the following to the top of the email: “Hi {comment_author_user_display_name},”; and
    2. Send the email to the person who made the comment on the post. I added the email/merge tag to the Recipient section in the plugin to “{comment_author_user_email}”.
When comment has a reply on the site, the Post Author’s display name is on the top of the email and similarly, the email is send to the Post Author instead of the Comment Author.
I’ve read everything I can find in your documentation on this topic, scoured your support tickets and can not figure out what I am doing incorrectly.
    Please help!
    Thank you…

I’ve consulted with our developer and we believe this is a bug in the plugin.
Could you confirm whether this is a bug please?
    Thank you…

Hi, unfortunately, I couldn’t confirm this bug in the stable nor development version of the plugin.

The {comment_author_user_display_name} is rendered with the name of the user who replied and the {parent_comment_author_user_display_name} is rendered with the name of the user who just got replied to.

Are you sure it just wasn’t the post author who replied? If you are positive can you send me a screenshot of the Notification edit screen and tell me what’s your testing scenario?

It’s not likely that the merge tags are rendered differently based on the context but maybe we are missing something.
