    Hi Bhaldie,

Is it a known issue for file with a comma in the filename to download without an extension? (add extension to downloaded file and will open).
If not can we log this, as we have a couple thousand documents posted via mdocs; and quite a number aren’t downloading with an extension due to comma(s) in the filename.

    Cheers,

First off I would strongly suggest not using commas in filenames here is a document outlining the issues:

    https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT202808

But looking back can you give me some more information. In the mdocs list of files does the filename have an extension for example => hello, world.png or does it look like this hello, world.

To fix your issue I might have to create a special script that will remove all commas from filenames. This should fix the problem but moving forward commas will still be a problem on your server. I may also need to sanitize filenames and remove commas.

    Thanks Bhaldie,

I didn’t think it would be an issue, but I see what you mean via the article. I’ll make sure to filter out comma’s in future.
I do appreciate the offer, although I did a grep search and there’s not as many documents with this issue as initially thought; so I should be good in clearing it up.

I appreciate the quick reply, and the assistance.

    No problem,

The next release of mdocs will parse out commas in file names so this problem shouldn’t arise again.

I should have version 3.6.19 out sometime next week.
