• Hello, I think the new feature has been released in woocommerce and I really like it. However, I couldn’t find where to edit the coming soon page. Where to edit the coming soon page? I looked at the documentation but I didn’t understand anything.

    I’m using the Storefront theme.

    Hi @thecreator01,

The ‘Coming soon’ page template is customizable from the?Site Editor (when you are using a FSE theme), allowing you to tailor its appearance to match your goals. You can adjust colors, fonts, and layout to create a unique coming soon page that reflects your store’s style.

Please do note that to edit the Coming soon page template in the site editor, you’ll need to have a block theme active on your site.

To edit the Coming soon page template in the site editor, please follow the below steps:

    1. When you have enabled the site visibility to coming soon mode, go to WooCommerce > Home.
    2. The badge at the top should show?Site coming soon?.
    3. Click on the ellipsis menu.
    4. Observe the dropdown options are?Manage site visibility?and?Customize "Coming soon" page.
    5. Click on the Customize "Coming soon" page: https://d.pr/i/ZoeI70

You can learn more about the Coming soon mode on our documentation.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

    Hi there, @thecreator01!

I think the new feature has been released in woocommerce and I really like it.

I’m glad to hear you like it!

However, I couldn’t find where to edit the coming soon page. Where to edit the coming soon page? I looked at the documentation but I didn’t understand anything.

I got you, the documentation did not specify the exact steps to edit the coming soon page. We’ll improve it in that regard.

To edit the screen you would have to use a block theme, such as TwentyTwentyFour. Unfortunately, this means it does not support Storefront theme since it’s a classic theme. I’d recommend switching to a block theme if it’s an option for you.

There’s a workaround if you’d like to try it out, but I cannot guarantee that everything will work as intended and will continue to work in the long run. Avoid trying it out in a live site since it’s untested. With that said, you could try following these steps:

    1. Make sure your WooCommerce version is 9.1.2 or higher.
    2. In your site’s wp-admin, install and activate a block theme such as TwentyTwentyFour.
    3. Go to Appearance > Editor and then Templates > Page: Coming soon.
    4. You should be able to edit the coming soon page with site editor. When you’re done, save it.
    5. After that, go back to Appearance > Editor and activate your previous theme.
    6. You should be able to see your edited coming soon page by opening up a browser in incognito mode or logging out, and then go to the frontend of your site.

    Hope that helps!

Hello, thank you for your answers. @rajeshml @sandipmondal @ilyasfoo

Can I edit this edit as HTML from woocommerce files? Can I at least make style changes such as background color, maintenance mode warning message? Or a mu-plugin?

    Hi @thecreator01

Kindly note, this is intended for block-based themes, and WooCommerce version 9.1.2 or higher. Therefore, edits/customizations are expected to be applied by means of the block settings in the ‘Coming soon’ page template.

I trust this provides clarity. ?? If you have more questions, let us know.

    We’re happy to help.

    Hi, @thecreator01!

Can I edit this edit as HTML from woocommerce files? Can I at least make style changes such as background color, maintenance mode warning message? Or a mu-plugin?

I understand that you’d like to directly modify WooCommerce files to customize the coming soon page. While I can guide you to the source code, I advise against doing this for several reasons:

    1. Modifying the WooCommerce plugin directly is fragile and prone to breaking whenever updates occur, including WordPress updates. It will also prevent you from updating WooCommerce to the latest version without losing your changes.
    2. The PHP and HTML source code is built with a Site Editor, so you wouldn’t have all the styling context required to easily edit the page.

You can find the purple entire site coming soon page here: plugins/woocommerce/patterns/coming-soon-entire-site.php.

I have the utmost respect for the capabilities of the WooCommerce team, but this functionality as it was recently released is not okay.

The provider Hostinger offers its own “Maintenance Mode + Bypass Link tool (where you can reset as many times as necessary)” and, absurdly, WooCommerce’s “Site Visibility” feature makes Hostinger’s excellent tool inoperative.

I believe it is correct that the “Site Visibility” functionality has a button or similar where users can initially set it to enabled mode and only then perform the optional configurations between “Live” and “Coming Soon”, and if users want to continue using their chosen tools to have their own “Maintenance Mode” pages, they can completely disable this functionality.

It is urgent for the WooCommerce team to resolve this issue and allow “Site Visibility” to be completely disabled, please.

    I actually really agree. @newpr2024

I don’t think site visibility is really necessary in WooCommerce. Because there are already many plugins that do this job and I see that the team is still working on it in updates. There are much better suggestions on WooCommerce’s request features page and they should review them. I also think they should always focus on performance improvements.

Maybe a system can be created that asks for these features of WooCommerce during installation for users who don’t want them.

    Hello @thecreator01 & @newpr2024,

    Thanks for sharing your feedback.

Please know that the Site visibility option is designed to indicate your WooCommerce site’s visibility status, and it is useful for many users, especially while performing maintenance on their store. Even developers can see whether the site is live or in maintenance mode before making any changes to it.

However, we understand that some users may find this feature unnecessary or distracting. And the team is already aware of this issue: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/51389

At the time being, we can’t give you an estimate for when the team will look into or fix the issue, as bug/enhancement reports are prioritized based on a few criteria. Please subscribe to the GitHub issue if you’d like to receive updates.

    Thanks!

    Hello!

Is it planned to support this feature for classic themes?
Currently, there are a huge number of non-block themes, including premium ones, that are not going to switch to the block model.
Is it possible to add a separate template for the Coming Soon page?
Or make a filter to override the coming-soon-entire-site.php pattern?

There are no ongoing efforts to add support for classic themes that I’m aware of. Community contributions are welcome though!
