comfy theme: featured images not showing….

    You might say go and ask the developers and company who has sold this to you, but not getting any help from there, many other users are asking for help, but no reply from support.

    Here is my issue:
    I need some help with the issue of the image:
    this is my website: https://www.afghans.com.au

    when you go to this website you can’t see the images under ‘Featured Stories’, on the top, you can see the number ‘1’ and ‘2’ but no images shown.

    I am using this image: https://www.afghans.com.au/images/valy_awb1.jpg

    I have used the custom field ‘Featured’ in the post that I have created, in the past I had made the posts and the images were showing, but recently its not. Even if I make the old posts as featured, the images are not showing up.

    The only thing different I have done is that I have updated my WP to 3.2.1 so I wonder if thats done anything?

    I hope I can get some help from here.

    Please help out asap.

  • Hi again. I will post some test posts up but I have not solved my problem. I’m having the same issue as far as not being able to have my posts go under the featured story. I’ve tried to follow along with the solution above but have gotten quite lost.

    Don’t know if I’m just retarded or blind but as before, I can’t seem to figure out how to make my posts appear under featured story.

    Do I need a slider of some sort to post images along with the potsts?

    Am I missing something? I don’t know exactly the steps. I used to be much better with wordpress and coding but I’m a little rusty since the last site I built was 4 years ago and haven’t brushed up on anything since then.

    I’m also having trouble with the thumbnails as they seem to not be working correctly.

    Hi.

    First of all, you seem to be using a very old version of the Comfy Theme (1.0), when the current version I believe is something like 3.1 or higher.
    To display featured content in the featured slideshow, you need to set a featured category in the theme’s General Options and assign that category to all the posts you want to show there.
    Also, there seems to be something wrong with phpThumb and your thumbnails. Make sure all paths to assigned images are correct.

    Everything on the site is running great! Wanted to thank you for your help. I hate to ask more of you but do you happen to know why the thumbnail image doesn’t show up whenever I try to post from the wordpress app on my phone? Just curious. As always, thanks again for all your help!

    tl,dr: The OP was having the exact same problem as you are and fixed it redownloading and reuploading the xmlrpc.php core file located in the root directory of your WP installation directory.
