Comedy Website Review

  • Hello,

    I am 1/2 of a comedy duo called BangBoomCrash based out of York, Pennsylvania. Was hoping to get some reviews on the website. We have built a small fan base, but always trying to attract more fans. As I have developed the site using WordPress, I figured the WordPress community could offer their 2 cents.

    We post original, self-produced comedy sketches and post a weekly blog post. We plan to start a podcast soon (titled “BangBoomCrashCast”) and I hope to start making some animated skits (titled “BangBoomCrashBOING”). We’ve been doing this for 3 years now and love doing it. Any advice, reviews or criticisms are appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a good one.

  • first impression, its an amazing logo, and the two of you in the background… over all its a very good theme.

    here are a few suggestions:

    1) Change your link structure and make it friendly. to do that, just check out the permalink option under settings, in your wordpress admin panel.

    2) Use a social bookmarking plugin, i see that you are already using facebook like and with some good results too, am sure twitter and the others will help as well.

    its a great blog, keep it updated, i love comedy ??

    Thanks weddingcakes, I appreciate it. I’ll have to look deeper into the permalinks. The top with the logo and our names is a hard coded table and the links are hard coded as well referring to index.php?(whatever category). When using a permalink option, the images don’t load up on sub pages as it’s looking for an image directory that isn’t there. However, I would like the post names to be within the URL (for search engine purposes).

    As for social bookmarking, I do have the Social Plugin installed, and was using it, till Facebook released their Web Wide Like Button option a few weeks ago. With that plus the social plugin, it got a bit cluttered so i deactivated it. But perhaps I should look into it again.
