Combining Themes

  • Here’s an interesting one:
    I am trying to combine two themes on two different pages.
    My main theme is Comment Central, this is where I have the bulk of my content.
    I want my intro (landing page) and “blog” theme to be Boldy.

    I have FTP’d the Boldy css into the Comment Central directory.
    Likewise I FTP’d all of the images and php files renaming everything header.php—> headerx.php and within that file i redirected images to /imagex/background.png (for example)

    Basically i want the two themes to work in unison but i keep getting 404 errors and broken pages…
    any ideas?

  • I don’t think that what you are trying to do is the right way. What you want to do is create a new theme, call it whatever you want, have only one images folder and one set of templates. You can then use whatever feature you want from each theme, but basically you need to create a new theme.
