I sell colored wooden play blocks with the following variations: Red, Green, Blue.

Currently I hold the following stock:

    • Red blocks: 2
    • Uncolored blocks: 10 (I can paint these with any of the 3 colors as I require)

I’ve configure this as a variable product with the following settings.

Product/parent level inventory: Manage stock = yes Stock = 10

    Variation level:

    • Red: manage stock: yes, stock 2
    • Green: manage stock: no
    • Blue: manage stock: no

The frontend product page shows the following stocks.

    Red 2 Green 10 Blue 10

However, I expect to see the following

    Red 12 Green 10 Blue 10

I already have 2 Reds, and another 10 uncolored which I can paint Red (or any other color) if required, so the Red stock needs to show as 12. (variation stock + parent stock).

Is there a way to achieve this result?

    Hello,

When you enable inventory management at the variation level you replace whatever inventory is set at the product level. In WooCommerce you’re choosing one or the other, you’re not adding up both.

The solution will most likely require an additional plugin or custom coding. If you don’t find something suitable in www.remarpro.com, feel free to contact our premium support channel linked below. We would be happy to further explore a solution there:
