Dear participants, I have had a Woocommerce store for 5 years and ALL my handmade products have the following shipping setting: flat rate freight costs €4.90, free freight from €69. This works perfectly ?? Here is the screenshot:

    https://www.directupload.eu/file/d/8860/nosd2fe3_jpg.htm

I now have a product from a partner company (a bottle lamp) that costs 199.90€. I don’t earn much from it and therefore I must ALWAYS charge €8.40 shipping costs.
That’s why I created a shipping class “bottle lamp” for the bottle lamp: 8,40€ – see screenshots.

    https://www.directupload.eu/file/d/8860/zwwtwpk6_jpg.htm

Unfortunately, Woocommerce also assumes free shipping for the bottle lamp from 69€!!! If I switch off free shipping, 8.40€ is correctly charged in the shopping cart. As soon as free shipping is switched on, the lamp is shipped free of charge again.

How can I solve this problem? Please help me, I will be very greatful.

    Sandra

    Hello san4fer,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

    I understand your question.

You can set up free shipping for all products except the “bottle lamp” in WooCommerce by using Shipping classes and Shipping zones.

1- Create a Shipping Class for Excluded Products
    – Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Classes.
    – Click Add Shipping Class and name it something like “Excluded from Free Shipping.”
    – Assign this shipping class to the “bottle lamp” product that should not have free shipping.

2- Configure Shipping Zones & Methods
    – Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones and edit the zone where you want free shipping.
    – Add a Flat Rate shipping method, set a cost for the “Excluded from Free Shipping” class, and save changes.
    – Add a Free Shipping method and set the conditions (minimum order amount).

This ensures all products get free shipping except the “bottle lamp” assigned to the special shipping class, which will have a flat-rate charge.

Alternatively, you can use a 3rd party plugin which can handle all the configurations automatically.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards.

Dear Zubair! Thanks so much for your help!!!! I still have difficulties. The problem shifted (see in the bottom of this text)

1-?Create a Shipping Class for Excluded Products
    – Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Classes.
    – Click Add Shipping Class and name it something like “Excluded from Free Shipping.”
    – Assign this shipping class to the “bottle lamp” product that should not have free shipping.

    https://www.directupload.eu/file/d/8861/tontqgrx_jpg.htm

I did this, created a new Shipping Class “Excluded from Free Shipping” and asigned it to the bottle lamp too.

    2-?Configure Shipping Zones & Methods
    – Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones and edit the zone where you want free shipping.
    – Add a Flat Rate shipping method, set a cost for the “Excluded from Free Shipping” class, and save changes.
    – Add a Free Shipping method and set the conditions (minimum order amount).

I did everything like you told me, again. Here are the screenshots:

    https://www.directupload.eu/file/d/8861/b477kbjm_jpg.htm

    https://www.directupload.eu/file/d/8861/myvxq7zy_jpg.htm

    https://www.directupload.eu/file/d/8861/2f63zgrp_jpg.htm

Now I have the problem, that in the cart, 2 candles over 69€ are free shipping, which is right. BUT: As soon as i add the bottle lamp, the cart shows the shipping cost for the bottle lamp (8,40) AND the shipping costs for the candles (4,90) – ALTOUGH the candles are over 69€. The shipping costs for the candles should be free freight.

Do you have any idea? THANKS!!! Sandra

Please – can you help me?
    Default to Woocommerce:
Products up to 69€: 4.90€ flat shipping fee
    Products from 69€: free shipping
Excluded product: Lamp – this always costs 8.40 shipping fee

    Problem:
If a lamp AND other products over 69€ are in the shopping cart, the shopping cart suddenly charges the 8.40€ for the lamp PLUS 4.90 shipping costs for the other products (although all products (except the lamps) from 69€ have free shipping). Why does this problem exist?

If candle products over 69€ are in the shopping cart, shipping is free (so there is only a problem in the combination with the lamp).

    Thanks you so much!! Sandra

    Hello san4fer,

    Thank you for your reply.

I implemented this method on my test site, and I can see the problem. I tried to modify the shipping settings to make it work, but that did not work as well.

The problem is that we have free shipping starting at €69 but this does not include the lamp product.
This is where we are restricted by the features available on the WooCommerce core. If we only use shipping classes, we cannot set a minimum order amount for free shipping. If we do not use classes, free shipping is applied for a minimum cart amount and that will also include free shipping for the lamp.

To solve this you need a plugin with a more advanced shipping feature that allows you to control the shipping configuration at a more granular level.

I recommend you look into Table Rate Shipping for WooCommerce, it has advanced shipping features that will allow you to set conditions for paid and free shipping. This plugin comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee and premium support.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards.
