Hi there, I’m trying to get a sidebar & a list of products to show up side by side. I currently have the sidebar set to 8% width (the lowest I can set it on WP Bakery) and I have the item list at 92%, however when you look at the page the columns are stacked on top of one another rather than beside one another. Is it possible to add some custom code to fix this?

I’ve tried other widgets instead of the woocommerce widget and I did not have this issue, everything went side by side, so it seems to be only an issue with WooCommerce

Thanks for your help in advance

  • Hello,

I tried to load the link you provided, but it is a draft page, with no public access.

Please send us a link to a public page, so we can take a look.

Hi @hegenberg, thanks for letting me know. I’m not quite sure why it’s not giving you access as it seems that the page is already public. Can you try this link please: https://www.gdwm.co.uk/catalogue/

    Hi @lbgj1

    Thanks for sharing the link.

the columns are stacked on top of one another rather than beside one another

The columns are not actually stacked. They are in their own places. It seems that in the right hand side column (the 92% column) there is a container/placeholder at the top, which is why the products are getting pushed to the bottom.

Deleting that object/container should solve the problem.

Let us know how it goes – we’ll be happy to assist further.

Hi @margaretwporg thanks for your reply. You were correct I deleted everything apart from the filter sidebar which is 8% width but unfortunately nothing has changed. All I can see remaining on my end is the sidebar.

    Hi @lbgj1

If you scroll down a bit, you’ll be able to see the products also.

Just to clarify, have you tried to find out what is there in the white area (apparently blank) at the top, and tried deleting that? Please refer to the screenshot below.

In my previous screenshot it can be seen that the area is not really blank though it seems to be so.

Hi @margaretwporg, thanks again for your reply. I’ve tried to find what was in that space but could not until I deleted the sidebar widget from my WPBakery page editor column.

According to WPBakery this page is now blank but as you can see the products have now gone to the correct position since deleting the sidebar.

Is there anyway of adding a sidebar to this page without using WPbakery as I believe the issue may lie with WP Bakery?

    Thank you

    Hi @lbgj1

Is there anyway of adding a sidebar to this page without using WPbakery as I believe the issue may lie with WP Bakery?

This depends on the theme you are using. You can contact the theme support directly and check on how to add a sidebar to that page: https://help.us-themes.com/

Hopefully, you were able to find a way forward with the issue. I’m going to mark the thread as resolved. Feel free to create a new topic if you need assistance with anything else.
