Column Width No longer customizable in Classic Editor

  • I updated to WP 5.3 and have noticed that I can no longer adjust the width of columns in my classic editor. I was formerly able to do this by creating 2 columns and then using mouseover on the edge of the left column I could change the proportions of each column. This mouseover also previously brought up the dustbin icon, and that has disappeared too. I have no idea why this would have suddenly disappeared.

    I have created a staging site and deactivated all plugins and the problem still persists in the editor. Any ideas what could have caused this and how to fix it?

    Are you talking about the block editor or the classic editor?

    As far as I know, the classic editor never had a “columns” feature unless it’s a plugin adding such thing.

    For the block editor, there’s a columns block where you can tweak the widths but not with a resizer. The widths can be changed by selecting the column block and changing the width in the sidebar.
