Column dropdown filters on ampersands

    I am fairly sure this used to work, but just noticed it doesn’t currently.

    I have various tables that are auto imported from CSV. The CSV contains ampersands in some columns, and these are later used in column filters. On import though the ampersand is converted into the HTML character code & This means that a column dropdown filter finds no results, since it is trying to match on just ampersand.

    As an example, on the page I link try filtering on Family of “Acrocephalidae (Reed Warblers & Allies)”. This returns no results, because the table data is actually “Acrocephalidae (Reed Warblers & Allies)”. Other Family options that do not include & do all return results correctly.

    Forgot that would happen!

    the ampersand is converted into the HTML character code & amp;

    the table data is actually “Acrocephalidae (Reed Warblers & amp; Allies)”

    Minus the space after &!

    thanks for your email, and sorry for the trouble.
    Also, sorry for the late reply. I was very busy with personal life, so that I could not reply earlier.

    Unfortunately, this is a known issue. The & is indeed causing problems in the dropdowns due to that conversion that you mention. I was not able to work on a fix yet. Sorry. It’s on my list though.

    Do you have any estimate when you will be dealing with this? It is an important feature on my website and I have users complaining that it does not work.

    Hi,

    no, sorry, I do not yet have a specific schedule here. Right now, I’m pretty busy with personal life (????) and then plan to focus on finishing TablePress 2.0 before taking a closer look at all the Extensions.

    Thus, for the time being, I can only recommend to use other characters/text like + or the word and instead of &, if possible.
