Colour swatches not working

Hi there,
When I choose Type – Colour, all I get on my product page are the square oulines of the boxes that should be in colour.
I have added the colour preview for thie value to each colour attribute, under Configure Terms, but it still just shows all the colour boxes as empty.
I have had to select Button instead of Colour so at least my customers can see the word for the colours. Please help!
